Ian is the Founder and Executive Director of The Normal Anomaly Initiative, leverages his experience as a formerly homeless LGBTQ+ youth to lead in HIV prevention and health equity, while also being a writer and capacity builder recognized with awards like Trailblazer from the African American State of Emergency Task Force and Emerging Leader of the Year from NAESM.
As the first Hispanic woman hired by the Houston Fire Department, she has served as captain, educated through the first all-female Fire Science course, championed social justice including LGBTQ+ and racial equality, and balanced her career with her passion for art, becoming a role model and barrier-breaker for girls everywhere.
Meghan is the founder of Trans & Gender Queer Houston, was appointed to an at-large position on Harris County’s LGBTQIA+ Commission in 2023, where she is dedicated to protecting and empowering the LGBTQ community through social networking, advocacy, and civil rights protections.
Founded in the 1979, Rice Pride educates the community about LGBTQ+ issues and promotes inclusivity through support, advocacy, and visibility, providing a safe space, promoting diversity, and collaborating with various LGBTQ+ organizations under the motto "A Part Of – Not Apart From."
